Mushroom picking and zoledzie...

In Poland all forests are public and people can enter any forest they like (unlike in the US where almost all forests are private and inaccessible) so last weekend we decided to go into the forest near by and pick some mushrooms :)My mom is an avid mushroom picker and she really knows mushrooms well so we were safe as long as she inspected whatever we found :)Unfortunately we came in little too late for real mushroom picking so we collected just enough for the delicious breakfast next morning. Anyways, we had a wonderful time walking in the woods and picking all kinds of different things including zoledzie (not sure how to call it in English) that we made little people with later on. I used to pick up zoledzie and chestnuts in woods every fall when i was a little girl and me and my mom made different things with it for my school assignments. Here are some pics from our collection:

Visit with Ewa and Viktor

Couple days ago I took Noah to visit one of my oldest and best friends ever Ewa and her adorable son Wiktor, who is only 3 months older than Noah. Me and Ewa know each other since kindergarten and we have been good friends ever since:) We have attended the same elementary school and then the same high school and have spent some great times together. It was wonderful to see her after 5 years and to finally meet her son Wiktor, although Noah wasn't at his best behavior ever :)Anyways, I haven't taken my camera with me but Ewa's husband Piotr took some snap-shots of us:

Polish wedding!

Here are some photos taken from the Polish wedding. I wanted to take more shots of the event (the set up was truly beautiful) but i was busy the whole time talking to the family members i haven't seen for years and eating...(yes there was a LOT of eating involved) that i haven't had the time for the pictures. I did take a lot of movies with Noah dancing with different men throughout the evening...Hahaha he was obsessed with hanging out different males, whom he never seen before but who adored Noah and fulled around with him all night long :)

Update on Polish trip...

I really hadn't had a chance to blog lately (not in Poland with my family)but today we have lousy, rainy weather here in Katowice, Noah has been asleep after his big night out at the Polish wedding so i decided to write a quick update on our trip. So far we are having a blast in Poland with my family. The flight from the US to Poland was kind of tough on both of us, although Noah hasn't really cried much on the plane and we got lucky to have an empty seat next to our seats. The problem was that he couldn't fall asleep for more than an hour and i had to take care of him the whole time (I surely gave him a Bendaryl but apparently it didn't work for Noah:) All he wanted to do was walk back and forth between the isles and that became pretty tiring after 8 hours :) All in all, the flight hasn't been all that bad and we quickly forgot about it after we landed on Polish soil and saw our family :) I think Noah quickly recognized babcia because he had no problems getting in her arms right from the start :) but then again he didn't have any scruples getting in Natalia's arms either. He was little more reserved with dziadek Jurek, whom he saw for the first time but he quickly warmed up to him as well. Anyways, the first two weeks we spent at Dzwizyno- where my family took us for vacation (a small town located at the Polish seaside to the North of Poland). We really had a great time together; eating fresh fish every day, dancing to the Polish music right outside of our windows and hanging out at the beach. I have to mention, that Polish food is simply the best! I really forgot what i was missing for so many years in the US. They have the best cheeses, yogurts and other dairy products that are not available in the States and i simply cannot praise it enough because the quality and freshness are just incredible! Oh and the assortment of fish is also the best! I have never eaten tuna or salmon veal in my life! Nor did i eat salmon sausages or other meat products made of tuna or salmon. Noah has never had such a huge appetite in his entire life! It will be hard to accustom to eating American food again after having our pallets spoiled with this kind of food :) Anyhow, Noah is getting soo spoiled having four adults taking care of him and attending to his needs at all times :) He will have a hard time coming back to the US and getting back to his old, mundane schedule :) Anyways, we came back from Dzwizyno couple days ago and yesterday we had another big event to attend: a real Polish wedding! (that kind that starts at 1pm and ends next morning). Me and Noah had to skip the church because it was during his nap time but we were taken to the party as soon as he woke up and we stayed until 11pm. It was a wonderful wedding and the reception was even better. Incredible food, good company and awesome music! Noah had a real blast yet again!!! There was no other kids around, so everybody was taking care of him, dancing with him and walking him all night long! He came from one arms right into the next and mommy had a nice break :) Many times i didn't even know the person that was playing with him but it didn't really matter because Noah was happy as a clam and so was mommy :) I recorded plenty of movies from last night's escapade and can't wait to watch it one of these days :)Thank you babcia and dziadek for an unforgettable vacation!
Here are some of the pictures i took of Noah since we left the US:
