Oh how i love the sun! I can take endless pictures if the sun is as yummy as it was today in the afternoon. We went outside for just a little bit to catch a fresh air and walk around the house but I when I noticed the sun's reflection in the grasses that grow on one side of our house, I couldn't help but take some pictures of the kids bathing in the January sun. The grasses sparkled and glittered and suddenly everything looked enchanting. It was cold but well worth the walk to see this amazing sight. My sweet Leah. Here 11 months old. My boy! Leah
Leah is walking now! She has been crawling and cruising for a while now and today was the first day when she took her four first steps. I'm happy but I am also sad because the babyhood is so short. Way too short. I still remember like it was just yesterday when Noah took his first steps in the kitchen. Well, it is super exciting though and Leah is very proud of herself. She wants to follow Noah all around and soon enough these two will be chasing each other. I definitely see a change in Noah towards Leah. He adores his little sister now and is always first to wake her up :) She is happy when he enters her room and he is happy when she joins him for a bath. On a daily basis it's always the three of us that take a bath together but sometimes during the day Noah and Leah will take a bath or two again (I know we all love water in this family :) I just know these two will be perfect playmates really soon. Even now they are already starting to play together. Noah loves when his sister sits in his clubhouse with him and watch him play with little people. Life is good.
We haven't seen our boat for quite a while now (since the Fall) so one afternoon without much planning we decided to head to the boat and check things out. Because i have recently purchased a new lens, I had a great opportunity to check it out. I love it! It's the 135mm 2.0 telephoto lens and it rocks! I am a definite prime lens girl. I even sold my only one zoom lens so that i could buy this one. The photos turned out great. Kids had so much fun just playing at the beach and Noah had a chance to burn some of his energy by running around with the dogs. It also helped that we were there during this incredible sunset. I have never seen a sky as beautiful as the one we've experienced right in front of us. It had many different colors and it kept changing as we walked on the beach. What an incredible view! I wish i was better at photographing the sky. This is something that i definitely need to work on. This post calls for this quote:
“I believe that if one always looked at the skies, one would end up with wings.” ~Gustave Flaubert
This is how the sky looked like :)By the way, I submitted this one to a project 52. This one was titled: "Negative Space" Our boat in the background.
This week's idea for the PTM project was "Open". As soon as i read it, I had a clear idea of how i see this week's challenge :) I got little creative and come up with a cute photo of my little star. I can't believe i took this photo in January!!! I have to admit, it was kind of chilly outside but with a little lollipop bribe (organic lollipop i must say :) I persuaded Noah to model for me. He was such a trooper! I am soo proud of him. It only took a minute or two to take it but by the end, he was VERY ready to come inside and get his treat. LOL. He just looks so stinking cute here and the picture is ideal for the Valentines. Yeah!!!
Just love it! I just wanna run through life like this :) I love you soo much!
Last week i have joined this group of wonderful photographers to share a weekly picture with each other. I am very excited about it and I am ready to get my creative juices flowing! This is a weekly photo project, so I need to upload one image for each theme. I am hoping that the group will be inspiring, fun and something that will challenge me to stretch my creative wings. I'm hoping that i can learn couple things from the group along the way. At the end of 2012 I hope I can look back at the photos I’ve taken of my little family and burst with pride at the memories I’ve captured.
The first week's theme is "Natural". Here is my humble interpretation of the word: I love Leah in this picture. She just is natural in everything she does. That's the beauty of being a child.
Happy New Year everyone and Happy Birthday Babcia Ewa. You have been the BEST babcia and mom EVER. We love you so much. As for the New Year's wishes, I hope that the year 2012 will bring so much joy into your life that your heart won't be able to take it all in. Try to count your daily blessings and live your life to the fullest as if today was your last day on this Earth. Don't worry about your problems (everyone has some) and just go with the flow of life. Problems will solve themselves when the time is right. Love everybody and everything because every creature is a reflection of God's face. If you live like this, there will be no boundaries to your happiness.
We didn't have big plans for the New Year's Day so we decided to take the kids to the museum and the park. I rented the 85mm l.4 lens so i had to test it out (little did i know that someone messed up my camera settings and all the pics came out either overexposed or underexposed). Nevertheless, the 85mm lens is a bomb! I love it. It gives a creamy bukeh and it's super sharp. It's definitely on my wish list. The kids had a great time at the park, although it was rather cold to be outside. They had even better time at the museum, running around, fishing and playing. After the museum I suggested we go to CNN center to grab something to eat. On our way there, there is this huge Centennial Park fountain and Noah decided to jump into it and got completely soaked :) I had no idea that he would really get into this cold water but YES he did and minutes later he was shivering with cold so we had to go back into our car and drive straight home :) My sweetheart at the Sentential Olympic Park Downtown. Running around... Noah trying to teach Leah how to walk :) How sweet. I can't believe these two are MINE! I am blessed beyond reason. At the Museum... Leah in a "Imagine IT" museum fishing... Looking at the squirrel. Noah playing with the choo choo train. Sitting in a princess carriage... Yummy Yummy Moonsand :) Noah running through the fountain. That's my boy!
These two looked so cute in their matching pajamas that i had to grab my camera and snap a few pictures of them on their sled. They received the sled from babcia and Jerry for Christmas. I know... it definitely doesn't look like we will be able to use it this year but oh well it's good to have it just in case. I'm still hoping for a little snow this year. So far no good. I'm starting to think that maybe we should organize a short trip to North Carolina so that the kids could play in the snow but I'm still having my fingers crossed for a little bit of snow this year. My little pupkas together :) Leah having no choice but to submit to Noah's hugs :)
