1st Birthday photo session for Leah!

Time for Leah's 1st birthday photo session! Me and babcia went to a Nikajack park (we also went to this park for Noah's 1st birthday session:) to take some pictures of our princess. The weather was incredible all day long. I can't believe it's January and we all are wearing short sleeves :) I knew i wanted a session with the baloons so we went to Party City with Noah and picked up some colorful balloons for Leah to hold. I'm glad that I took a few pictures with Leah and the balloons because as soon as she sat down on the chair, the baloons got untied and flew away...They were soo beautiful :) I love balloons and first i really wanted to get the mega ones that you can order online but i figured they were a little overpriced even for the balloons :) Leah had a great time in the park, just walking around (without shoes b/c i forgot it) and exploring the grass. We didn't stay long because right after the session, Leah had her 1st birthday party bash :) But i will document it later.

Leah's 1st Birthday Cake Smash and Birthday Party!

Ever since i have gotten into photography I wanted to bake a giant cupcake and have a little one to smash it. I regretted i have not done the same for Noah's 1st birthday party but i was just starting with my photography so i was busy with learning my camera and not to style the shoot. Little did i know that i will have my own bundle of joy to photograph while she is smashing her cake. It was a LOT of work to prepare the cake (me and babcia have been working on it) but at the end, it was worth it. Of course if i were to do the smash cake over again, i would have used the higher F stop to have the cake more in focus but i like the way pictures turned out. Well, miss Leah were kind of weary of the cake. She didn't know what to think about it when we sat her in front of it. I think it's the combination of cold plexy glass underneath her and the giant cake scaring her :) Long story short, she started to cry and couldn't stop :) She didn't want to have anything to do with the giant cupcake until her brother jump into the frame and helped Leah smash the cake. Noah had definitely more fun than Leah with the cake. He smeared it all over himself and Leah and for anything in the world he didn't want to end the party. LOL. By the end, i had to pick them up one by one and carry them into a bathtub because absolutely everything was covered in cream and cake :)
